Sydney weather: Warm February to get a heatwave boost this week

3116367812_36d97d5653_zSydney’s simmering summer will get a late-season boost this week as a heatwave builds across the country’s south-east.

The city’s temperature is forecast to reach at least 30 degrees each day from Monday to Thursday, with temperatures likely to peak by midweek.

“There’s a good chance temperatures will make it into the 40s in the west, particularly on Thursday,” Rob Sharpe, a meteorologist with Weatherzone, said. “Summer’s definitely not over.
