Two new cases of legionnaires’ disease linked to CBD outbreak

1457711269903Health authorities have detected two new cases of legionnaires’ disease caused by a suspected infected water cooling tower in the Sydney CBD.

A total of eight people have now been hospitalised with the pneumonia-like infection linked to the same outbreak.

But NSW Health director of communicable disease Vicky Sheppeard said there was likely no ongoing risk to people in the CBD.

The two new cases identified today were exposed during the same timeframe as the four cases reported on Wednesday, Dr Sheppeard said
